Weather Underground Forecast for Tuesday, June 18, 2013.
nly a few areas of unsettled weather are anticipated in Europe on Tuesday as high pressure remains the dominant weather feature of much of the continent.
In western Europe, low pressure located just south of the United Kingdom will shift slightly northward, driving a warm front across the southeastern corner of the region. The front will kick up increased cloud cover and chances of light scattered showers primarily near the London area through the day. The eastern half of this frontal disturbance will extend across the northern tier of the mainland to Poland. A few scattered showers with isolated areas of moderate rain showers will develop just south of the boundary in parts of southern Germany and southern Poland.
Meanwhile, to the south, another associated frontal boundary will extend southward from the low across western France into eastern Spain. Moisture pooling along the boundary will lead to light to moderate rain and thunderstorms in the western third of France into eastern Spain. A second wave of low pressure located west of Portugal will shift inland into the Iberian Peninsula, bringing showers to Portugal and increasing precipitation coverage across Spain. Expect cooler temperatures from France through the Iberian Peninsula as this system prevails.
Elsewhere, weak frontal disturbances will drive light showers eastward from southern Norway into southern Sweden. The rest of the continent will experience generally dry weather conditions and slightly warmer temperatures as high pressure centered over the central Mediterranean Sea spans northward across much of the central and eastern mainland.
