A Wind Advisory remains in effect until 5 am PDT Thursday for the
Kern County mountains and deserts.
* Winds: westerly 25 to 35 mph with gusts to around 50 mph through
and below desert facing passes and canyons. Other desert areas
will have gusts from 35 to 40 mph.
* Timing: after a brief decrease overnight... winds will increase
again later this morning... and continue through early Thursday.
* Locations include: Highway 178 through and below Walker
Pass... Highway 58 through and below Tehachapi Pass including the
city of Mojave... and Highway 14 from Rosamond to Indian Wells
Canyon. Gusty winds are also likely on Highway 58 from Mojave to
Kramer Junction... and U.S. 395 from Inyokern to Kramer Junction.
* Impacts: strong wind gusts can impair driving ability and can
steer a high profile vehicle off the Road. Visibilities can be
reduced by blowing dust and sand.
