Spotted this fellow just outside a window while working inside a house. Couldn't tell what happened to his leg ? He moved without any difficulty whatsoever !

Maybe just the light and angle of the shot, but it looks like he has only one antler also. It's pretty amazing how animals adapt and survive.

What a handsome fellow. Looks like he might have caught his leg in fence but got loose. We have some bucks around here whose antlers are cockeyed like that. Great catch and thanks for sharing.

Sorry for the double post. When I checked it didn't look like it had posted the first one.

Excellent capture.

One never knows how these things happen.
Could be genetic? Could be predators?
I notice there is one antler not forming
either.

He will have a tough life road to traverse.

Thanks for sharing.

It sounds strange, but according to various articles I've read including those from the Quality Deer Management Association (QDMA), deer who suffer a bodily leg injury to a hind leg may have antler deformities on the opposite side. The antler deformity may last only that year or may continue to occur each year. If the deer suffers a bodily injury to a front leg, the antler on that same side may be deformed rather than the opposite side (although there are some exceptions).
