Its name refers to Cetus, a sea monster in Greek mythology, although it is often called 'the whale' today".Despite their size, whales as well as other creatures are here only components of the phenomenon defined as the life on the Earth. We wonder every day how diverse and rich nature around us. With all our respect for the skill of the artists, we should recognize that the works of nature superior to any known or future paintings, photographs, books, movies, or monuments. OK, my avatar shows a wondering cat. Interestingly, in Ukrainian words `kit' (a cat) and `kyt' (a whale) are similar in spelling. :) |
