For the first time this year I was able to reach this area between Roads End and Cascade Head. It requires a combination of a once a month low tide, the correct time of day, and decent weather. It's too early in the year for the sand approach (unless you like wading in 3 feet of ocean against the rocks at 50 degrees), it requires traversing a 60 foot rocky spine. However, once you get there the payoff is immense. You can't linger for very long or the returning tide will strand you -- not good!

Yep, those are barnacles! These rocks spend most of their time at least partially under the ocean so the barnacles are plentiful.
