Statement as of 03:54 AM EST on marraskuu 26, 2009 ... Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 6 PM this evening to noon EST Friday above 3500 feet... The National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg has issued a Winter Weather Advisory above 3500 feet for snow which is in effect from 6 PM this evening to noon EST Friday. Snow will begin at high elevations by early evening... and will lower to the valley floors by late this evening... continuing into Friday morning. By the time snow starts to taper off late Friday morning... one to two inches of snow will have accumulated at elevations above 3500 feet... along the northern Blue Ridge... in northern Buncombe County... and in the Balsam mountains and Great Smoky Mountains. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while driving. 07

A Wind Advisory remains in effect from 6 PM this evening to 6 PM EST Friday. West to northwest winds of 25 to 35 mph... with gusts to 50 mph... are expected tonight and Friday in much of the North Carolina mountains and Rabun County Georgia... especially at higher elevations. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Wind Advisory means that winds of 35 mph are expected. Winds this strong can make driving difficult... especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
