The National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg has issued a Winter Weather Advisory above 3500 feet for snow which is in effect from 6 PM this evening to noon EST Friday.
Snow will begin at high elevations by early evening... and will lower to the valley floors by late this evening... continuing into Friday morning. By the time snow starts to taper off late Friday morning... one to two inches of snow will have accumulated at elevations above 3500 feet... along the northern Blue Ridge... in northern Buncombe County... and in the Balsam mountains and Great Smoky Mountains.
