Despite their best efforts to avoid it, our meteorologist have admitted that we have unseasonable hot temperatures here in Las Vegas. Typically June temperatures are warm but they stay under or really close to a 100 degrees.

So far the temperature during the heat of the day has hit 110 or higher depending on what part of the valley you live in. Granted, an additional 10 degrees may not sound like much but that will increase the temperature inside your car to 140 if you are parked in the shade.

The other problem with super high temps is the high power bills that come with it. Energy costs in the valley have risen steadily in the past several years. A lot of Las Vegas home owners worry about the cost of cooling their home in the summer months. Making sure your air conditioner is working at top efficiency will help keep your electric bills as low as possible. Most people wait until there is a problem with their unit before calling a professional, which cost them more money in the long run.

Getting your unit serviced on a yearly basis will pay for itself. I recommend that you get a referral from a friend or co-worker for a reliable air conditioning company to service your unit.

In typical Las Vegas fashion, we really aren't getting a spring. May was unseasonably hot according to the weather people on television and then the temperatures drop from around 100 into the 70s for the Memorial Day weekend! Now that it is getting warmer and going to stay that way, I've been weatherproofing my house in Las Vegas to try to keep my power bills down. I also drained my pool and replaced the water before it got too hot outside. For some reason, everyone ...

It seems we may be in for a really long summer this year. The last few years we were spoiled with nice weather through most of June. Temperatures didn't hit over a 100 degrees for the most part until July last year. This year we may see over 100 degrees constantly this month through the end of September. Hopefully I wrong.

It looks like it is going to be a hot year, but then again maybe not. So far this month the temperature hit over 100 degrees on my back patio. But today the weather outside is in the low 70s with a chance of rain.I love April weather in the desert! Time to start planting and getting the yard spruced up after a dry winter and fall.

Well March weather was definitely interesting. We had great weather, highs in the low 80s during the day and we had cold weather, getting down to the 50s plus high winds and rain.Today it is gorgeous outside, in the 70s although it will probably get a lot colder tonight and the forecast is for more wind and some sprinkles. With Spring officially here, a lot of my neighbors are getting their yards in order. If you are thinking about spruing up your yard with some spr...
