I am retired and enjoy plants, the outdoors, birdwatching and college football. As you can see, I'm a Clemson alumni!

Happy Valentine's Day!
Were ya'll having some kind of Valentine's
drop in this morning?
I got an email "L" must have sent out to
her email group, with an invite to stop
by around 10:30 today.
Whatever it was, I hope you enjoyed the
company.
We have a staff meeting tomorrow, which
shoots holes all in my schedule.
I got an audit yesterday that I have to
pull bills on for another office. It's
about 15 pages long and has over 200
accounts on it. I'd been kind of
half way expecting one to rear its ugly
head. I have to get that done this week.
Dentist appt went OK. I don't know how
much novocaine he shot into my jaw but
it didn't wear off for almost 5 hours.
I kept waiting to eat supper, 'cause I
knew I'd chew up my tongue and mouth.
I was about starved by the time I caved in
and started nibbling on some chicken, peppers
and bread about 7:45. It took me an hour to
eat it and I do have sore spot on my tongue
and my lower lip today.
That shot didn't wear off completely until
about 9:30.
The lip is fine but the tongue is still
a bit sore.
I've been watching the weather forecast
for this weekend. At first, it looked
like it was going to be sunny and clear.
Then, they started calling for scattered
showers Saturday and scattered thunderstorms
Sunday.
I haven't looked at it today. It can
change from one day to the next.
Our staff meeting ran long today, which
didn't help me much on my desk. I
managed to get a litte work done on my
usual daily stuff but I'll have to start
pulling those bills as soon as I finish
lunch.
Expect me Saturday about 12:00 or so. I'll
try to get on the road as early as I can
Sat morning. I'll have to stop in O'burg
for gas and a pit stop.
Sunday, I'll have to leave by 1:00 or a
little after, if I want to get home before
dark. Or at least, be in my home stomping
grounds when it hits.
drive this weekend. I just hope Mother
Nature keeps it down to the odd light
shower. I don't want buckets!
I did stop at Pep Boys on the way home
yesterday to pick up a new windshield
wiper. The driver's side was smearing,
instead of wiping. The biggest smear
was right at eye level.
It had been doing it for a couple of
months. Unless it rained, though, I never
thought about it.
With the forecast this weekend, I figured I'd
better buy a replacement. I don't want to be
driving hilly, secondary roads in pouring down
rain and have one of those logging trucks cresting
the rise in front of me. That scares the
bejeebers out of me! I need to be able to see.
I'm scurrying around, trying to get work
done before clocking out this afternoon.
If I don't have too much backlog from
this week, it makes next week's start much
easier.
Will pack my overnight bag after I get home
and put it in the truck, along with our
(belated) Christmas. I'll try to get out
the door as early as I can but, depending on
road conditions and how many pit stops I make,
I'll get there around lunchtime.
(((HUGS)))
I just logged on to see what the weather forecast was going to be for my drive up. I might hit some showers; I might not. The heaviest rain will be overnight and some in the morning.
I hope to get there between, oh, say, 11:45 and 12:30.
If I do run into any heavy rain, I'll pull over until it passes. I don't like those hilly, secondary roads in heavy rain.
Looking forward to seeing you!
