Winter Weather Advisory
Statement as of 16. huhtikuuta 2014 klo 17:30 (CDT)

...Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 9 PM CDT this evening...

* timing...snow will begin to taper off now through the late afternoon and early evening hours.

* Accumulations...snow accumulations of 2 to 3 inches...with isolated amounts around 4 inches possible.

* Wind and visibility...northerly winds of 20 to 25 mph range... with gusts around 35 mph are expected through early evening. This will be a wet snow...so visibility reductions from blowing of the snow on the ground is not anticipated. However when the snow is falling...visibility below a half mile is likely at times.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities...and use caution while driving.

...Record low temperature set at Huron SD...

The temperature at Huron fell to 14 degrees early Tuesday morning. This established a new low temperature of record for the date. The previous record was 17 degrees set in 1990.
