Updated High Seas Forecast for Metarea 10/11 northern area: Equator to 12 south between 90/142 east and southward to coast between 125/142 east issued by the Australian Bureau of Meteorology, Darwin for 24 hours commencing 1100 UTC 23 may 2013

Please be aware wind gusts can be a further 40 percent stronger than the averages given here, and maximum waves may be up to twice the height.

Part 1. Warnings nil.

Part 2. Situation at 230600 UTC. A trough extends from 4s 90e to 4s 108e to Equator 120e. A southeast windflow affects the forecast south of 7s.

Part 3. Forecast north of 7s. Variable winds 10 knots. Slight seas. Isolated storms.

Arafura Sea south of 7s, Gulf of Carpentaria and Timor Sea. Southeast winds 15/25 knots, reaching 25/30 knots from tomorrow morning. Moderate/rough seas, tending rough/very rough from tomorrow morning. Isolated storms.

Remainder. Easterly winds 10 knots, tending south/southeast 15/20 knots south of 10s, west of 125e. Slight seas tending moderate/rough south of 10s, west of 125e. Moderate south to southwest swell in the Indian Ocean. Isolated storms.

Remark: a minor change is planned for the High Seas Forecast. The header on this forecast will include reference to Metarea 8 and will take effect from Tuesday 11 June.
